Dentures on implants
In the case of total lack of teeth (edentuolus maxilla and mandible), the basic treatment method for decades has been to make complete dentures, situated on the mucosa. A long-term usage of these kind of dentures leads to loss of the alveolus which may cause lack of ground for the next denture in a couple of years. Complete dentures are the cause of discomfort during usage. The use of commercially available denture adhesives is often not enough to keep them in place. This causes stress, that the denture may be displaced or even fall out. However there is a way to avoid this – dentures made at Exceldent (dentures Szczecin) on two implants.
The prosthodontic work is fixed to the base (implants implanted in the bone) with the use of retentive elements. These elements are in the form of balls or locators fixed to the implants. The denture has places to fix to these balls or the other retentive element on the implant. All the elements responsible for the support of the denture are exchangeable if the need arises. The fixing system on the retentive elements (balls or locators) significantly improves the comfort. This solution completely solves the problem of falling denture.
A denture fixed on a couple of implants (4-6) may the either fixed or removable. We make it in the case when too few implants to make a bridge. A greater number of implants allows for a significant reduction of the denture field (less acryl, free palate in maxilla) which significantly improves the patients comfort during usage. This solution also facilitates the hygiene of the oral cavity.
